Relationships are made up of many intimate dynamics. A sense of empathy, compassion and latitude are needed for healthy relational connection.

I offer couples counseling, family counseling, as well as individual counseling for both men and women.
I specialize in children and adolescents and provide parent/caregiver support.
A Women’s Wellness support group is also offered on a monthly basis.
Welcoming women to form a dynamic group whom desire to connect with others about the challenges and rewards of life!
This is a general women’s support group addressing such issues as empowerment, boundaries, life balance, autonomy/intimacy, relationships, families, career, phase of life, overall health of body, mind and spirit, as well as other issues as determined by the group. This will be an ongoing group, meeting one to two times per month on Fridays in St. Louis Park from 10:30-12:00. The cost is $75 private pay, per person per group. To ensure a small, comfortable, and cohesive group, limited seating is available. Adult women of all ages welcome.*This group is not currently running but please reach out to me and I am happy to be in touch when a group starts up.
In my practice I use a meld of therapeutic approaches which encompasses several theories, as I believe there is no one set therapeutic approach, intervention, or program that works for all.
Therapeutic approaches are determined best by the uniqueness of you the client in combination with the therapist’s strengths. Whether counseling is long term, short term, or just a few brush up sessions, the process of therapy will be an open discussion between us, as I take a collaborative stance.
I deeply believe in fostering with my clients a sense of trust and security in the therapeutic relationship, as this is essential in making counseling effective.
One approach I value is Humanistic therapeutic approach, which has an abundance of power through self-discovery that ultimately comes from within and can be cultivated in the right environment.
I also incorporate Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Expressive Therapies. These therapeutic approaches provide emotive and creative contexts for clients to gain insight, acceptance, and discover new paths for healing, all of which allow for greater shifts towards progress.
The EFT approach in particular when working with couples and families, use emotion as a powerful and intimate bonding agent which allow relationships to feel safe, secure, and connected.
Another important note about emotions: they provide us with a vast capacity to experience life with incredible fulfillment as well as unbearable pain. No doubt however, emotions are the one true universal that makes us human! Emotions are intricately woven into our thought processes, which both in turn impact our behavior.
For healthy living, we must learn to embrace our emotions by sharing them with the connectedness to others.
I have experience working many with issues relating to mental, emotional, and physical health:
Stress/Anxiety/Fears
Depression
Coping Skills/Self-care
Relational/Couple Issues
Life Transitions
Parenting
Family Conflict/Bonding
Divorce/Blended Families
Grief and Loss
Peer Relationships
Self Esteem
Self-Harming
I also highly encourage those seeking pro-active healthy living and wellness! This is something too important not to attend to, as it is such a powerful motivator.
I offer individual/dyadic, and group supervision for therapists in training. I became an approved supervisor from the Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family Therapy in 2010.
Self-of the therapist and good self-care are extremely valuable skills in a therapist. Therapists must also identify their challenges and discover their strengths. I appreciate supporting others in the beginning of this ever evolving process that therapists encounter. As a supervisor, I foster these vital components to your skill set.
